How does intervention work?
Intervention is a process by which students that are struggling in a concept are automatically identified. When a student is scaffolded to a prerequisite concept as part of the remediation process, they then work through the learning workflow for that prerequisite concept. After finishing the prerequisite concept(s), the student returns to the original concept. If the student scores lower on the original concept than the mastery percentage set, they are then placed in intervention status. The system doesn't do anything automatically at this point, and the student is moved forward to other concepts. However, the instructor in a course can quickly see the students that are in need of intervention and can implement additional support to those students, if so desired.
Example: In the learning path below, if a student completes the concept C103 - Role of Nurse Promoting Health below the mastery percentage set, the student will be scaffolded to concept C114 (as noted in the content blueprint below). The student completes the learning workflow for C114 and returns to the original concept C103. If the student scores lower on the original concept than the mastery percentage set, they are then placed in intervention status. The system doesn't do anything automatically at this point, and the student will move forward to the next concept C105 - Nursing & Health Promotion History.
