How do benchmark targets work?
When an outcome group is set up, the parameters for a custom rubric can be entered. A custom label can be entered for each element of the rubric, along with the starting and ending percentage for that particular label. Then, when an outcome within that outcome group is set up, a benchmark target for that outcome can be set based on that custom rubric. Note that if a custom rubric is not set up for an outcome group, then benchmark targets are not enabled for outcomes within that group. So if a concept within a course is mapped to an outcome that has a benchmark target set, then work within that concept will go towards meeting that benchmark. Otherwise, if a concept is mapped to outcomes with no benchmark, then the benchmark feature is not applicable.
