How does intervention differ from remediation?
To check how intervention data differs from remediation data for a course:
- Navigate to the Courses page.

- Navigate to the Intervention tab.
- Next, navigate to the Remediation tab and compare the data.
Remediation refers to when a student is scaffolded, which means that they struggled with a concept and were moved to the prerequisite for that concept. While working on that prerequisite, the student is considered to be in remediation. If a student completes the prerequisite successfully, then they are returned to the normal learning path with the idea that they now have the support they need to continue learning. Once they resume working on the normal learning path, they will no longer be considered to be in remediation for that concept.
Intervention refers to when a student struggles with the prerequisite after scaffolding (or struggles with a concept that does not have a prerequisite). When a student needs intervention, that means that they require additional support even after remediation (or require additional support for a concept that does not have a prerequisite). A student that is marked as in need of intervention is still able to continue the learning path.
