Release Notes (Copy and Move Items) September 15, 2021
The latest release includes the following improvements to the Course Designer UX:
1. Designers can now copy an item (linked or created) within a concept.
- The version copied will be the latest version.
- The brand new draft item will have the name "Copy of".
- The copied item is treated as a brand new draft item that can be edited, saved, etc.
2. Designers can now move items between concepts with a course and between courses.
- Only items created in the concept can be moved. Linked items cannot be moved.
- If the item a user wants to move is being used in the learning workflow (instruction step, static step, or meets the criteria for the adaptive step):
- The item will remain in the concept's learning workflow, but it will show up as a linked item on the content page.
- Ownership of the item will change from the original concept to the newly selected concept.
- If a user moves an item to a concept where a link already exists, the link will be deleted and the ownership will change over to the new concept.
- Users cannot move an item to a course that they do not have access to create/edit content in.
- There is no impact to learning workflows or any other student facing content.
