What is an initial diagnostic for a course?

To take a course initial diagnostic:
  1. Navigate to the the desired course.
  2. Find the initial diagnostic on the course dashboard.
  3. Select the initial diagnostic to begin taking the diagnostic.

An initial diagnostic for a course measures what you know about the content of a course before starting that course. It contains a sampling of questions from across the course, and you will complete all of these questions as part of the diagnostic. If you demonstrate proficiency in certain content while taking the diagnostic, that content may be marked as mastered. What this means is that you won't have to complete that content later while working through the course.
