Release Notes (Session-to-Session LTI Integration) 28th December, 2020
The latest release includes the following improvement to the platform:
Session-to-Session LTI Integration with a Replicated Course Master
In Canvas, when the "edapt Auto-Setup & Launch" link is clicked in the Course Master, edapt will recognize that the Course Master is either new or "replicated". If the Course Master is recognized as new, it will trigger the current process. If the Course Master is recognized as "replicated", the new Auto-Update process will do the following:
- Seamlessly and invisibly create a new edapt Course Master and integrates it to the same edapt Learning Path found in the Course Master.
- Go through all existing edapt Assignments found in the Course Master and update the LTI integration to reflect the New edapt Course Master.
- Read the Course Master start date and automatically update the edapt Assignment dates in edapt based on the number of days assigned to the Learning Path's units. Note: Assignment due dates in Canvas will not be updated by edapt in this process.
- If any required edapt Assignments are missing in the Canvas Course Master, then edapt will create those Assignments with the calculated due dates per the Learning Path due days defined in the edapt course.
When this process is completed, the edapt confirmation page in Canvas will show the following:
- For a successful sync: the page will display a success message with the following details "edapt Auto-Setup & Launch was successful. Below find the assignments and the actions executed. (List of assignments with name, due date and action executed).
- For an unsuccessful sync: the page will display an error message with details "edapt Auto-Setup & Launch was NOT successful. (Any error details for follow-up).
edapt will maintain an integration audit log that captures, in edapt, each integration including who initiated the integration, when it was initiated, and the details shown to the user at the time of integration on the edapt confirmation page in Canvas.
