How to setup a Canvas course with edapt.ai LTI Configuration
Each course in Canvas should be set up with edapt.ai LTI Configuration in order to enable the edapt.ai capabilities for that course. This setup will result in 1) LTI integration between Canvas and edapt.ai and 2) Ability for faculty to launch and setup (one-time) the course roster, assignments and grade book.
Follow the steps below to enable this integration:
Get LTI Info from edapt.ai:
- Navigate to the Courses page.
- Click to select the desired course.
- Navigate to the Learning Paths tab.
- Click the
icon to the top right of the desired learning path.
- Select LTI Configuration from the menu.
- Copy down the Launch URL, Consumer Key, and Shared Secret.
Configure Canvas with LTI Configuration:
- Navigate to the desired course within Canvas.
- Navigate to the Settings section.
- Click on the View App Configurations button.
- Click on the + App button.
- Enter "edapt.ai App" under Name. Enter the Launch URL, Consumer Key, and Shared Secret.
- Select Public from the drop-down menu under Privacy. Then, click to submit.
- Navigate to the Modules section.
- Click the + icon for the desired module (example: Faculty Resources).
- Select External Tool from the drop-down menu.
- Click to select edapt.ai App from the list. Change the Page Name to "Launch and Setup edapt.ai App".
- Then, click Add Item.
With the above two steps complete, the Canvas course is ready for edapt.ai LTI configuration. Faculty is expected to click "Launch and Setup edapt.ai App" to facilitate the one-time launch and setup.
