How to define and set up Item Type Weights for Mastery

Item type weights for mastery can be set up and defined at the organizational or course level.

To set up and define item weights at the organizational level:
  1. Navigate to the Organizations page.
  2. Click on the details icon next to the organization.
  3. Click on Details in the drop-down menu.
  4. Navigate to the Settings sub-tab.
  5. In the Item Type Weights, enter a number 0-100 for each item type (Self-check, Pre-Assessment, Post-Assessment, Summative, Pilot).
  6. Click on Save to update the settings.

Note: These settings are inherited by any child organizations within the organization and courses within the organization.

To set up and define item weights at the course level:
  1. Navigate to the Courses page.
  2. Go to the Details tab and click on Settings sub-tab
  3. Select the calculation method for the course. If using Weighted Average, enter a number 0-100 for each item type (Self-check, Pre-Assessment, Post-Assessment, Summative, Pilot).
  4. Select the Grading Scope. If using Only Gradable Steps, the Gradable toggle will appear on adaptive or static question steps in the learning workflow.

Note: These settings are inherited by all learning paths within the course and can be overwritten at the learning path level.

To set up and define item weights at the learning path level:
